Island cd - music and nature sounds

The Island cd (1990) is an older cd that still sound good !

There are two pieces on the Island cd; one based on the sounds - and sights - of Phillip Island in southern Australia and the other based on the sounds from Arnhemland, in the north

Phillip Island:
is situated 120 km south of Melbourne, Australia.
Best known for its penguins and tourists, it still retains remnants of a unique natural ecosystem.Areas still exist that are vibrant and full of diverse of sights and soundsKoalas, ibis, wattle birds, geese, spoonbills, kangaroos, pelicans, parrots, sea cliffs, marshes, a great swamp, estuaries - plus the penguins - are all depicted here

Natural sound recordings are combined with musical impressions in this taking of a musical trip around the Island

Arnhemland:
is mostly based on the natural sound environment from this special place in northern AustraliaWhistling kites, whistling ducks, frogs, brolga, plovers, crows, dingos, a great thunder storm heralds the 'wet' season ..

'Arnhemland' was originally produced as the soundtrack for a fashion parade featuring superb Aboriginal paintings done on very expensive leather coats (!)The titles of the paintings were 'white cockatoo', 'water spirit', 'lyrebird' ..
